Ron Paul - Lone Pilot Light for the Constitution

November 8, 2007 · No Comments

Nice interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN. Dr. Paul hits a home-run. I can’t imagine Wolf asked these questions about his voting record with the intent of setting him up for a fall.

Kudos to the media for starting to promote an understanding of Ron Paul!!

The Dream That Was America

This article is reminiscent of a sad quote from Doug Casey:

The idea of America has fled from the geographic entity called The United States of America.

Largest Money Bomb in History

November 6, 2007 · No Comments

I am proud to say I participated in a record-setting political event yesterday: the November 5th “money bomb” to the Ron Paul campaign. Two records smashed, actually: over $4.2 million donated (not just ‘pledged’) in 24 hours, and over 36,600 individual donors.

CNN has excellent coverage here:

Ron Paul’s face was on the front of the abcnews.com website for half the day, with this popular article: Ron Paul is Money

I can’t help but include this interview on ABC news. Lots of juicy questions and sharp answers:

The Coming Market Triumph

November 6, 2007 · No Comments

Science and technology will continue to advance at an ever increasing pace. It’s an exciting time to be alive:

You may not know it, but you are probably living in the final generation anywhere on the earth to endure poverty, disease and scarcity of physical goods – at least in the way such things have existed from the dawn of civilization until now.

A Sickening Display of Pandering

November 5, 2007 · No Comments

I saw a short bit of an outdoor speech Hillary Clinton recently gave at a University. She made a promise to the students that if she was president she would force universities to lock in their tuition rates so that a student’s tuition could not increase after their first year. The students applauded, and I’m sure many a socialist professor became teary-eyed with joy.

But this was slightly outrageous to watch. Is this what politics is about? Pandering to groups, promising to change the rules for them. These rules are best setup by the free-market. The government has no right to intervene, even though the intervention may appeal to a small group.

Central economic planning is always a disaster.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: “From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”

–Alexander Fraser Tytler (later Lord Alexander Fraser Woodhouslee), in “The Decline and Fall of the Athenian Republic,” published 1776

I hate to point this out, but it’s worth saying that one would be shocked and appalled to hear these Hillary-esque promises come from the likes of Ron Paul. He appears to be the lone candidate working to stem the tide of this political dysfunction and restore the idea of America to this geographical entity called the U.S.A.

Ron Paul gets a lively write-up in TIME:
The Ron Paul Revolution

Good to see he’s getting attention. The article isn’t perfectly framed, but at least people will find out about him. Looks like Tom Cruise even had some encouraging words for the good doctor.

Doug Casey

October 27, 2007 · No Comments

I first saw Doug Casey when he debated against the Iraq War and U.S. foreign policy. In this four-person debate, he and Ron Paul were opposed by two staunch supporters of the war. After the others had spoken, Doug stepped up and basically knocked the audience’s socks off.

Witness one section of the debate here, and try not to take offense if you feel inclined to at some point: (you can find the other parts of the debate on YouTube)

Doug Casey is one of those rare people that one can accurately describe as “worldly”, having traveled in 175 countries, and having actually lived in twelve countries. He has authored many articles and essays which are scattered across the internet. Thanks to his wide-ranging experience and deep knowledge of history, his perspective never fails to be interesting and often educational.

I was particularly taken aback when I stumbled upon one article from August 2, 2001 (one month before September 11th), where Doug essentially made a case that the U.S. would be facing a major crisis in the form of an overseas war, initiated by a terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

I invite you to click the following link to read this! You may be amazed by this article:

I leave you to digest that, and welcome any comments.
